Some of you asked me how to do linking in your post.
Here it is:

Step 1
You highlight whatever text you want to be your anchor text.

Step 2
Click on the icon that represents  insert/edit link.( see screen shot below! )

Step 3

Small window pops up asking you what your link URL is going to be. This URL should point to another site or post of yours if you want intralinking (within your website). After the link is in, hit insert and you’re done.

I just came across this site that enables you to analyze your twitter page in a more detailed way.
This little tool gives you info on the following: Your followers gender, their location, percent engaged, the time of the day when you tweet, get re-tweeted and mentioned, who your most influential followers are.
All you have to do is to allow access to your Twitter account and you’re ready to roll.
It’s pretty neat and FREE, however there is a more advanced version of it with more features. Check it out HERE!

Social Sites are nothing but human behaviors on display.  People go there because they want to get something out of it.  They are looking for something whether they are consciously aware of it or not.   Maybe they want to  listen, want to be heard, or just want to kill time.  People are connecting with friends and strangers with similar interests. Your job as a marketer is to find qualified prospects, who are interested in the service or product that you represent.

The Process :

Step 1

On the social sites you are putting up content and providing value (it can be an educational video, an article…etc.) which guides them to your website, blog…etc.

Step 2

Your future prospects arrive at your website, where they read the information you intend to share.  They (your target audience) look around and discover you have a bunch of relevant content.   All this going to urge them to join your email list (by giving away their contact info by using your opt-in form) where you share exclusive information.

Step 3

Once they are on your email list, you keep giving them content, and make a sale by offering a product or service.

Many people referring to Twitter and Facebook as social media which is confusing.This post is intended to clear the fog surrounding social media and social sites.

What Is Social Media?

Social Media are the platforms (tools) designed to share information or ideas, and interact with others on the net.  Social media are things like a video, a podcast (which is a recorded audio- an interview for instance),chat rooms, social bookmarking…etc.  The content that can be shared through these tools are audio, video, pictures, and written materials.

What is A Social Site?

A Social Site is place on the net (a website), where you go and use these social media (tools) to post your content or interact.  Social sites are fundamentally the same:  You are able to create a profile, share content, comment and interact on them.  ( Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Digg….etc.)

These sites use different media:

Video Sharing sites:  YouTube, MetaCafe

Micro-blogging:  Twitter

Social Bookmarking:  Digg, StumbleUpon

Article Directories:  Ezine Articles, Buzzle

Pictures:  Flickr, Facebook

Interacting:  Twitter, Facebook

How Do You Lead People To Your Website?

When you post content in any form of social media (video, audio, text..etc), you will attract people who are interested in that content.  Each of these social sites allow you to put up your website’s link in your profile or content.  That’s kind of a pay off for you.  It’s a way a social site appreciates you being there on their site.  You are using these sites to promote whatever you like.

If you’re reading this you have an internet connection, and if you are online you have probably come across the term “Social Media”.

Sites like Twitter and Facebook are huge cyber parties where people go to take a mental break from their everyday world.  They go there because they want to have fun and be entertained.  When mingling  through these social networking sites you need to behave as a guest would at a party.

If you drag your unhappiness and negativity to Twitter, nobody will want to engage in a conversation with you.  Other “guests” don’t want you there bringing everyone down.

Also, if you are an internet marketer, and every other tweet you put out is a sales pitch of a new “cutting edge” business opportunity, you are going to look like a complete a$$.  You wouldn’t do that at a party right?  It would be embarrassing, right? Still  many marketers keep doing just that, wondering why they are reported as spammers.

If you come from a place where you exhibit some nice content (useful articles, videos, anything funny) you will leave a good taste in their mouth, and they will be more likely to remember you.

You can’t fake this.  Don’t do this because you wanna be liked, but because this is who you are.  Contribute great stuff  knowing that there is nothing in it for you.  Do this because you want to “share” and not rip people off with dumb affiliate links.

Don’t write anything (including complements) that you don’t mean because the “tweeple” (twitter community) will sense it and you loose your credibility.

One of the main reasons people fail at social media as an internet marketer is their lack of patience.

Let’s say you open an account, get 1000’s of followers, put up a nice affiliate link in your bio section, and start pitching your business in your tweets.  You wonder why nobody cares about what you have to sell.  Well…..nobody knows you!  That’s why!  You’ve gotta give them a chance to get to know you on a personal level.  People buy from people who they know, like, and trust.  Also, people hate to be sold. You don’t sell (solicit) on social sites because people can sense desperation which is turn off.  Instead you share information about a product or service without giving the feeling of obligation to act on your offer.
